Why are people in the U.S.A getting so many annoying calls?

In the U.S., people receive a high volume of unwanted calls daily due to several reasons:

1️⃣ Robocalls & Telemarketers

Many companies use automated calling systems (robocalls) to promote products, services, or scams. These calls are cheap and easy to make in bulk.

2️⃣ Data Leaks & Sold Phone Numbers

Businesses often sell customer phone numbers to third parties. If you’ve ever signed up for a service, entered a contest, or shopped online, your number may have been shared or sold.

3️⃣ Scam & Fraud Calls

Scammers use phone calls to trick people into sharing sensitive information, pretending to be from the IRS, banks, or tech support. The rise of AI-driven scams has made this worse.

4️⃣ Political & Charity Calls

Political campaigns and charities are legally allowed to call people, especially during election seasons or fundraising events.

5️⃣ Fake Call Spoofing

Callers can fake (spoof) their number to look like a local number, making people more likely to pick up. This is common in scam calls.
